I have a little frog (or two)

I have a little frog
His name is Tiny Tim,
I put him in the bathtub,
To see if he could swim,
He drank up all the water,
And gobbled up the soap!
And when he tried to talk
He had a BUBBLE in his throat!

These two little frogs were hanging out by the dog's water dish on our sidewalk. Cheyenne really wanted to introduce herself but I insisted she leave them as clearly they were on a date!

...and I was a Weekend Warrior!

1 recipe Pie Crust
+ 8 Gala Apples

=Not one, but TWO D'lish Dutch Apple Pies
...and just enough spare time to create this tote bag...
I call this one "Night Owl" in honor of a little night owl I know named Samantha.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dutch Apple Pie (makes 2- 8" pies)
Filling Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
6-7 cups peeled and sliced apples
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a very large bowl stir together the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add apples. Stir to combine. Let stand while making Pie Crust. Add apple mixture to pie crust, top with crumb topping.
Place a baking sheet on oven rack. Bake pie for 60-65 minutes or until filling is bubbly and crust is . If necessary, cover top of pie with foil the last 10 to 15 minutes of baking to prevent overbrowning. Remove pie from oven; remove foil; place on wire rack to cool completely.
Purse additions
No no, not to my purse (cause we all know I have enough crap in there!)...
My Mom has been staying at the hospital with my Aunt Noni for the last few days and she's decided that you should always carry 3 more things:
Makeup
Change of Undies
Toothbrush
You never know when you might need any or all of the above. I think I need a bigger purse!
What do I collect?
A visitor to my home this past weekend asked a question to which I thought the answer apparent.
"What do you collect, exactly?"
As I looked around my house it seemed a better question would be
"What don't you collect, exactly?"
It's true, I collect many many things and have the clutter to prove it. Is this border line hoarding? I hope not!
I have a few collections I'd like to specify and share today!
Antique Horse Bits
(meant for my horse themed christmas tree but gorgeous enough to display year round)
Aprons by the bucket full
Nostalic Kitchen Ware and decor
Cook books, my favorite are Better Homes and Gardens
Sheep & Horses and that's only the half of it!
One Million Giraffes
So this lady has decided to collect 1 million hand drawn giraffes....sounds like something I'd do! I thought to myself "Self, you can prolly draw a pretty recognizeable giraffe, no? You've got sticky notes to spare....DO IT!" and here's what I came up with. Meet Franky, the studious giraffe. The artist in me needed to rearrange Franky, of course!
Sporks, they hold your dinner!
Spork: the combination of a spoon and fork; the plastic variety are often received with fast food meals.
Sporkish Thoughts and Feelings:
What’s weird is when you go to take a bite and the food has slid off your spork because the tines are too short and there isn’t anything to put in your mouth. ~Cody (Nephew)
Nobody, I mean nobody can use my special star handled spork but ME (unless I'm in a sharing mood)! ~Wraylee
I’m a big fan, but it’s a little hard to eat soup with them. ~Lindsay (Sister)
The spork is the greatest contribution to efficient eating since the sandwich. It is a spoon, a fork, and in some instances, a knife. Not only does it eliminate the need for multiple utensils while eating, it decreases the amount of time, water, & soap used while cleaning the dishes. Finally, if one were to travel, the spork is a convenient & space-saving way to include all necessary instruments. In short, the spork is an efficient time-saving, resource-saving, space-saving instrument and we should extol its virtues from the rooftops! ~Angela (BFF)
My Pet Peeve! I hate them! ~ Pam (co-worker)
I want a PRETTY Apron!
When my best friend, Angela, bought her home the ugly curtains were the first thing to go. Oh, but some of those curtains were not wasted! I took one panel of particular *ahem* beauty home to repurpose into an apron for Angela to wear as she was nesting in her new abode. The style of the apron turned out very well, even if the pattern was....overbearing....to say the least. I'm proud of Angela for wearing it (even though people might see her on occasion). Granted the story is GREAT, but the pattern is GARISH.
Being a good friend means you can't let your BFF travel about her cute cottage style home in some unruly, makeshift, joke of an apron. NO, this can not be! Alas, I've created her a new apron~ one that screams ANGELA! This is an apron to wear proudly inside and out!
Behold~ The PRETTY apron!
Progress!! A pictorial
Before (apparently I really don't like this shed as this is the only shot I could find!)
Shingle bundles (don't worry Mandy, we are saving all of them for siding the future chicken coop)
The right side had shingles on it yesterday.....
Jason got all the shiplap off the left side
Poppys....poppys will put them to sleep
**************************************
The conversation went something like this:
**************************************
w- "Babe, what are these things growing in Cody's grave?"
j- "I dunno."
w- "They aren't thistles are they?" (said I, knowing they will take over the pastures and having an aversion to thistles)
j- "I dunno. I could spray them."
w- "Nah, let's just wait a few days and see what they are!"
j- "Whatever."
